Forest Biome Wanderer Character impish, curious, ill-behaved, comical, clever Ikkit is a trickster spirit. He has an mischievous sense of humor and is intensely curious... everything and everyone in the Biome has to be poked and prodded — sometimes beyond their limits. He loves to cause trouble and feels no remorse if his games are dangerous or deadly. The people and animals in his Biome are puzzles and playthings, all of his interactions are a game. He is not always dangerous, some of his pranks are harmless fun and he can at times be sweet and adorable. Most Esk find him to be an annoying nuisance. If Esk seek him out for advice he will often give a riddle or silly nonsense in response, he is always oblique and toying — he delights in others' frustration. Before giving Transformations or doing any favors he usually makes the recipient complete a dare, nasty prank, or odd puzzle. If he isn't interested in helping them he is likely to send them on a wild goose chase or give them an unsolvable riddle to get rid of them. He easily becomes bored and always needs something to play with. He enjoys creating humorous little oddities by transforming tiny plants, fungi, and objects into Abnormals. Appearance Ikkit has a cat-like manner... overall he is like a combination of cat, owl, squirrel, and aye-aye. He is almost always seen in the treetops and branches or in a hollow snag, he is rarely on the ground (on foot he moves a bit like a squirrel). In the trees he jumps from tree to tree and may extend his ferns out like a glider. The tail is not flexible, it hangs limp. His fur is very soft and feathery. He often perches on a branch in an owl-like posture. He can fluff up into a ball if resting, startled, or feeling aggressive. His ferns are a bit like wings, they are usually pressed against the body but can be moved about to express his emotions. He can turn his head all the way backwards and cock it completely sideways. The false ears are sharp tufts like a great horned owl and can be pressed flat against the head or perked up. The claws are very long like fingers, he uses them to hang on the sides of branches or upside down from trees. He is about the size of a large binturong. Ikkit's owl-like face is an illusion created by contrasting markings on the face — he does have a short snout, his face is not flat. The eyes are jet black in daylight but glow pale green in the dark. Ikkit Concept Sketches; more Ikkit poses Elemental Power Ikkit is a Shadow Elemental and can summon darkness at will. He uses this power to cast animate shadow puppets and cloak the forest with darkness. He can be portrayed with or without the shadow aura around his head. |
Using Ikkit in your character stories
Ikkit can be freely integrated into your narratives and backstories.
He likes to show up in Forest Esk's Boundaries uninvited and make mischief. Your Forest Esk might be pestered by him with pranks and riddles. Ikkit is mostly solitary, it is highly unlikely that he will befriend your Esk. His only friends are the odd little Abnormals he creates, if you own a Forest Abnormal created from a small woodland plant or object you can have them be Ikkit's friend.
You may use Ikkit in your Origin Prompts as long as your Esk belongs to the Forest Biome. If your Esk becomes a Shadow Elemental you can use Ikkit in your character's story as the source of this power (Biome Wanderers can pass their elemental powers on to other Esk).
You can draw and write about Ikkit without having to ask permission, please honor the concepts provided here by maintaining the character's integrity, appearance, and lore in your works.
