Elementals
Esk that have mastered elemental power are known as Elementals.
These esk have gone beyond telekinesis and have a fine attunement to a specific element or force of nature. Becoming an Elemental allows an esk to manifest that element out of thin air and manipulate it in their environment. Most Elementals are somewhat specialized. A Water Elemental might only focus their energies on control of tides and waves, or only manifest salt water and not freshwater. We recommend giving Elementals specialties that are reflective of their character, interests, and background. It is often more interesting to explore a limited range of expertise rather than making a character that seems all-powerful.
The following list has some suggested elements but you are not limited to these examples. The development of elemental magic is open to creative interpretation.
Some examples of Elementals
Becoming an Elemental affects an esk holistically.
Once an esk becomes an Elemental all of their traits can be affected by this change. Not only will they be able to manifest the element as part of their form (either attached to their body or floating around them), they can also apply the element to their accessories, familiars, and nature features. An Ice Elemental can have nature features that are always frozen or a Fire Elemental could have a familiar that is imbued with a fiery aura. If you obtain elemental power for your esk you are able to give their design an overhaul to fully integrate the new component into their manifestation. Have fun with it!

NEW - Shape-shift Elementals
For some abnormal esk, being in tune with their elemental allows them to manifest part of themselves as that elemental. These esk are not simply displaying or emanating their elementals; rather, their elementals become part of their anatomy and substance.
This elemental expression requires the use of the shape-shifting mutation, and thus esk must be abnormal to manifest their elemental this way. The shape-shift is included as an optional part of the elemental and does not require a separate purchase.
If an esk has an existing elemental that you would like to update to be applied as a shape-shift, it will require a modify elemental purchase, with the GP cost dependent on how consequent the change is - please send us a group note if you are uncertain about which purchase to make!
Please keep in mind that esk can only have one shape-shifting mutation at a time. If an esk already has a shape-shift mutation and would like instead to have an elemental shape-shift, they can remove their existing shape-shift for 10gp in the EE when they purchase a new elemental or alter an existing one. Abnormal esk who utilize a shape-shifting elemental must also have an underlying non-elemental base form reference present on their masterlist image.
For common esk, the elemental cannot replace their body, head, or neck, but may replace their limbs and/or tail, similar to the way the overgrowth trait works.
Please keep in mind that some elementals or depictions of elementals may not work within the species aesthetic, particularly in the case of shape-shifting and full-body elementals. Don't hesitate to get in touch with staff if you have an idea but aren't sure if it will work - as always, we are more than happy to help!
