Create a New Esk
Each Transformation acts as one MYO slot that allows you to design a new character. These slots do not cost real money to use but have in-game costs and restrictions. Transformations you unlock can only be used by esk you currently own, Slots cannot be given to other players to redeem with their esk; you must have one of your own characters perform your Transformations. You are required to familiarize yourself with the esk species guide on this site before creating a new esk.

Earning Transformations
Transformations are earned at different levels depending on your AP.
Determining the Biome and Boundary
If you are using a normal esk
You will only be able to create a new esk with the same or overlapping/adjacent boundary and the same biome as its creator. If you want a boundary far from your original esk's, you must use multiple Transformations to gradually move towards your goal or receive a Transformation performed by someone with a boundary closer to your goal.
If you are using an Abnormal
You will be able to create an esk with any boundary or biome, it does not need to be the same as its creator. Lore-wise, this Transformation still needs to take place in the boundary and biome that will be assigned to the new esk.

You can use your Transformation to give a MYO slot to another player
You are welcome to gift the MYOs you generate to anyone in the group. You can also raffle them off to players as long as there is no entry fee (this includes requiring payment, bartering, artwork, etc). Please use TF raffling in an altruistic manner to share with the community and not for personal gain, thank you!
You can only raffle or gift Transformation slots that you have already earned, not future slots.
You will need to make sure we receive their MYO information with your request either by including it in your comment or having them reply.
NEW - Gifted Transformations cost less GP to transform
To thank you for your generosity, any Transformation that is gifted to another player comes with a 20% GP discount. This means that a gifted Clone Transformation (normally 25GP) would cost 20GP instead, and a gifted Abnormal Transformation (normally 300GP) would cost 240GP instead.
The cost of the Transformation will be confirmed by Staff during your review.
Why some Transformations take less energy to perform than others in the same category is up to interpretation.
Perhaps your esk was in a flow state, maybe they were particularly close to the center of their boundary and source of power, perhaps this transformation felt fated, or the transformation was aided by the recipient somehow. We look forward to seeing how you will interpret this new, added nuance to the Transformation mechanic!

Trading Transformations cannot include money or non-esk adoptables, attempting to make players pay for Transformations is not permitted. These MYOs are a free reward for group participation and they will continue to remain free to all players.

Types of Transformation
Normal Transformations
Each time you create a new MYO it will use up a Transformation slot and cost your esk some of their GP. If you want to create more esk you will have to continue playing the game until you unlock your next Transformation MYO. When creating a new esk their previous form must be either an animal or a human.
Your esk must have enough Growth Points in order to perform Transformations.
Esk spend their own GP in order to do the Transformation, you cannot have another player pay the GP on your behalf. The only way someone can help you raise enough GP is by making art or writing of your character.

Abnormal Transformations
Abnormal Transformations are special and are only available to players at the Nature Spirit level or higher because the resulting MYOs have access to all traits, including special mutations, and have a wider range of abilities in the game. You do not have to use an Abnormal to create a new Abnormal, any esk can do this type of Transformation. When creating an Abnormal from scratch you must have their original form be an object, plant, mineral, fungi, or other non-animal/human form. Please read the Abnormal MYO design guide before redesigning esk into Abnormals.
Abnormal Transformations let you redesign an existing character.
If you want to add mutations and Abnormal abilities to an existing esk you can do so by using your Abnormal Transformation to convert them into an Abnormal.
When you convert an esk to an Abnormal you must make a change to either their origin (turn a trespasser into a traveler or vice versa) or to their boundary and biome. Change the origin, change the biome, or both! Changing the boundary is optional depending on the circumstances.

You must work with another player if you want to do an Abnormal Transformation on an esk you already own, or if you have multiple esk you can use one to transform the other.

If you create a new Abnormal (not re-transforming an esk) you can give them the "Abnormal" origin without having to make them a Traveler or Trespasser. Adding the secondary origin to make them Abnormal Traveler or Abnormal Trespasser is optional.

Elemental Integration
All newly created esk manifest nature features in resonance with the location of their boundary, but certain esk may also resonate strongly with other forms of nature such as fire, water, air, and other elements. These powerful manifestations consume more energy from the creator during transformation.
Players at Tree level (2500AP) or higher can integrate an elemental power into their Transformation.

Transformation Rewards
Every time an esk performs a Transformation they receive a gift from the Earth; as the esk's magical energy mixes with the Earth's own, a Transformation Reward is created. You can add these rewards to your esk's design as nature features or minor mutations. If you do not want to add any of these to your esk's design you may also simply have your esk keep them as collectibles, for example: instead of claiming a crystal as a nature feature you can just add a crystal to a collection of trinkets. Any Transformation rewards you earn and use in your esk’s design will be listed on the Masterlist under “tf rewards”.
Transformation rewards do not count as accessories and will not receive scoring for being depicted. For every transformation your esk performs, you may choose from one of the rewards below to add to your esk's design or to keep as a trinket.
All Transformation rewards can be manifested outside of an esk’s biome, even if normal nature features, familiars and accessories disappear.

- it can be in any rough, natural, rocky shape, or unnatural like carved shapes or spheres
- it can be as large or as small on the esk's body as you like.

These features are normally only available as mutations, but you are able to earn them as Transformation rewards. These rewards must be added as single units or clusters at a time and not cover large areas of the body. These Rewards cannot be used to replicate complex Abnormal mutations like antlers or wings.

- animals' nests (these may need to be reviewed on a case by case basis, please feel free to note us ahead of time if you wish!) examples: birds, squirrels, wasps, spiders, etc.

You must include a description or some visual material when claiming your Transformation reward.
Photos of rocks and crystals were accepted in the past, but from now on we would prefer it if you could submit a mock-up of how the reward will be added to your character design or their boundary. If you do not wish to add it to the design and would rather keep it as a collectible trinket you can skip this requirement and indicate that you are not adding anything to the esk's design or boundary.

How to submit a Transformation Request
Transformation Requests are posted on the Transformations Journal on Deviantart.
Please fill out the form in the journal completely and leave a comment with your request. If your MYO is for another player you must also provide their MYO information or have them comment in the thread with the filled out ID form. Staff cannot review your Transformation until all of the required information is provided! We will reply to your comment to redeem your Transformation slot and then either provide the MYO ID information to you or reply to the MYO recipient directly if the MYO is for another player. If your Transformation request needs any adjustments we will provide specific, constructive advice to help you revise it.
Please make sure to provide a sketch that displays the ideas and rough concept for your esk design and get a first approval from us before creating or commissioning a masterlist ready image. While we do need to see the final image to fully approve the design, this will help avoid unnecessary inconveniences, because there is always a chance that we might have to ask you to change or adjust parts of your design and we would prefer to do so when it is still in sketch phase. We hope that this measure will help to prevent uncomfortable situations for you or your commissioned artist and will aid in creating a smooth and fast approval process.
